Tuesday 14 June 2016
7pm to 9pm, Glasgow Cathedral
Join us at Glasgow Cathedral on 14 June 2016 to celebrate the launch of The Molendinar, the Scottish premiere of a new work for organ by Scottish composer Claire M Singer, commissioned specifically by Civic Room and Union Chapel. This commission is part of ongoing research by Civic Room regarding the history of Glasgow, and specifically the importance of the now hidden Molendinar Burn that travels through the east end of the city.
The Molendinar also features on Claire’s debut album, Solas, out 24 June on Touch.
This event is free to attend, and is presented as part of the Festival of Music 2016 at Glasgow Cathedral.
Claire is Music Director of the Organ Project at Union Chapel and regularly composes and performs her own works at the Chapel and throughout Europe, and is represented by Touch.
